Success Is All In Your Mind
No matter what you set out to accomplish, success is all in your mind. It doesn’t matter what the definite aim is, or what plan you start out with, or which tools you implement, or how much cash flow you have, or even who you know.

Success all comes down to what’s in your head.
Were you thinking this article was going to talk about how it’s a figment of the imagination, and that success just doesn’t happen?
Nah.
Success happens every day!
But success is all in your mind, in that your point of view determines whether you’ll attain it or not. And it’s not just at the beginning. Your viewpoint, expectations, and focus needs to carry through all the way to the end, because success and failure can happen every step of the way.
To prove this, let me ask you, how many projects have you started but never finished? It seemed like a good idea, and you had a great deal of enthusiasm at the start, but somewhere along the way you hit a roadblock, or you got distracted, or you just gave up on it.
Don’t feel bad. It happens to everyone.
And sometimes an idea deserves to fizzle out, because it turns out to not be a very good one once it starts to unfold. So in a case like this, knowing when to scrap an idea is a success in itself. No point in wasting more time on something that won’t fly.
Of course if dead end projects come up all the time for you, then you might want to figure out why. It could be how your mind is conditioned to think along these lines, and changing it could make all the difference in the world.
An article I wrote recently called “Unlearning Business Knowledge” might help you, because sometimes we get a one-tracked mind when it comes to processes we’ve learned.
Which brings us to the crux of the success is all in your mind thing . . .
Success happens when your mind is confident and wide open!
When you approach every new venture as a clean slate, putting aside everything you’ve learned, then you can start off with your imagination rather than a predisposed mindset. You won’t be encumbered with methods, nor will you be trying to fit a fresh idea into an old system of doing things.
And the great thing about imagination is, everyone has one!
The trick is to have enough confidence in yours to let it go to work for you. After all, if you have the imagination to come up with an idea, then you also have enough to develop it to fruition. You don’t need anyone to tell you how, or follow anyone’s directions.
When you think about it, every great invention began in someone’s imagination. They all start with a “what if” and carry on from there. Sure, old ideas can be built on, but it’s always the imagining of what it could do beyond what it does that makes for greatness.
Can you think of an invention that didn’t arise from a confident imagination? Any great inventors come to mind that were told what to do or how to do it?
And that’s where you need to put your plans for success. Learning is critical for advancement, true. You need to know how to do things.
But when understanding where success begins, you can apply knowledge to your imagination instead of the other way around.
So if you’re struggling toward success, and can’t quite seem to find it, then maybe it’s time to look inward first. Let your mind work for you instead of letting someone else come up with the plan. Success happens for a lot of people, but your success is all in your mind. So go get it!
